Accepting the three coins, Seth said, "I'll have Hoyt draw you a bath, but uh...," he added with a lowered voice, "do you mind waiting outside? I don't want to ruin the appetites of my customers."

Sonoma gave a little nod to Seth, and walked back outside to wait. Considering that it was Hoyt that was making her bath, she could only imagine what he would do considering his obvious dislike of her. "This...this was a bad idea."

After standing outside in the cold for about ten minutes, like an unpleasant dog that wasn't allowed to sit with the people inside, Hoyt finally came out to retrieve Sonoma.
"Your bath is ready, stinky," he said. "Upstairs, third door on the right."

Sonoma resisted the urge to throw snow in Hoyt's face. Instead, she just walked past him. She wasn't going to let him have any satisfaction from this. At least she was getting a bath, that was the only way she could look at it.

Following the instructions, Sonoma found a small room with a simple bronze tub full of water. Checking it, she found the water was warm but was likely to cool very quickly. Not wasting time, she locked the door, stripped down, and slipped into the bath.
She did not have time to enjoy it properly, as the water was getting colder by the minute. So she worked diligently to scrub and clean her body and hair as much as she could before the water turned too cold.
When she was done, she found a folded towel nearby to dry off and put her clothes back on. At least she no longer smelled like a filthy peasant!

Despite the fact that Sonoma didn't get to enjoy the bath, she still felt much better. She was just tired now.
After getting dressed, she rushed back downstairs, and out of the inn. She was still embarrassed that she had to go through that. Plus, she knew she didn't have enough money for anything else. She gave a little wave to Seth and Lyla as she rushed out, and she went straight to what she was calling home.

Sonoma returned home to find Chevis eating dinner, a whole fish this time. The scent of the meal filled the entire house, causing her stomach to rumble in protest. She had not had a bite to eat the entire day, and this caused her to feel weaker than the exhaustion itself.

Sonoma took a moment to take off Chevis' boots. "I...I wasn't able to buy myself food today," she says. She could only hope that Chevis had some kind of compassion in him.

Chevis frowned. "You didn't get paid? But you were gone the whole day. What were you doing then?"

"Failing horribly?" Sonoma said. "I was there all day, and I did the job. Except I fell into the horse manure. With what I got paid, I had to take a bath otherwise you probably wouldn't have even let me in here," she explained.

"You spent all of your money on a bath?" he asked, incredulous. "Baths aren't really a priority, not over food. I haven't had a bath in weeks," he admitted.

"Do you smell like horse manure?" Sonoma asked. "If I didn't smell like horse manure, then it wouldn't have been a priority. There are only certain smells that can be tolerated, and that isn't one of them."

A dark expression covered Chevis' face, and with a sinking feeling in her stomach, Sonoma realized that any chance she had of convincing him to give her food had flown out the window by her being so rude to him.
Without another word, he went back to his meal and just ignored the girl.

Sonoma let out another sigh. This was probably one of the worse days she had ever had or what she could remember at least. "I'm going to bed," she finally says. Of course, that meant sleeping on the floor in front of the fire, but hey it was something.

Onix 18th, 601; Lightday
Sonoma awoke the following day, sleeping in a bit as it was her day off and her muscles were quite sore. At around 12 bells, she got up and while she was stiff from sleeping on the floor, at least she wasn't exhausted anymore.
She had the whole day to herself and two pennies to her name. However, she was starving and felt weak with hunger.
Chevis apparently had not waken up just yet, as the door to his room was still closed and his boots still sat at the front door.
===========================
Sonoma maintains her -1 DEX penalty for sleeping on the floor, but her -1 DEX penalty from yesterday's work is now gone.
She also suffers a -1 penalty to STR and CON due to hunger.
