I've noticed several 5E mechanics missing from the game. Attunement, Dodging, and Readying an Action. I wonder if these were deliberately left out or just oversights. I got this nifty magic item, though, that lets you basically cast Speak with Dead at will. I've used it on every corpse I've found to no effect, but it finally worked on Edowin (the guy dying of owlbear wounds in the wilderness). He had...some interesting things to say. Anyway, currently heading out to the swamps to investigate something on Kagha. Something doesn't smell right about her. Looking forward to level 4. Do they still have a choice between ASI and a feat, like in the core game? 1) I think they commented on it (I didn't really follow the pre-release of the game because I didn't want any spoilers), and the things missing are all deliberate. Dodging is actually present in the game, but only Monks got it, through Patient Defense. 2) I love this spell and that item! Word of advice, as you start your adventuring game, find a corpse right away and cast Speak with Dead on it. Even if it doesn't say anything, now Speak with Dead will be active to be recasted at will. The only difference? Now that Speak with Dead is 'active', you will see some corpses glowing in green light: those are the ones that have something to say. 3) I have my own theory on Kagha, I also think she's hiding something, but I don't think she's entirely evil. I'll put it under spoilers, but it's just my conjecture. There are some additional infos that I got from being a Druid though, and also from some informations I got in game from certain events that you may have yet to encounter. {Spoiler} Basically, my character as a Druid knows that the ritual she wants to perform is really dangerous. All the groves that used it, ended up being destroyed because once they're isolated from the outside world they all started to to fight among each other, destroying the groves. So it's a ritual that's pretty much barred, and if Khaga is so adamant to perform it it must means that she has some ulterior motives. I later found out certain goblins that were trying to inflitrate the grove because they were searching for some weapon that was on the Mindflyer's ship, and they believed it was brought inside the grove. So my opinion is that Khaga found the weapon, and thinking it too dangerous wants to seal it inside the grove, to avoid it falling in the wrong hands. 4) Yes, there is still the choice. Although obviously not every feat is present and some of those that are were modified. (And I think there is a couple of new ones)

Still trying to get to where I need to be in the swamp. But there doesn't seem to be a straight path to get there. I keep hitting dead ends and having to backtrack to go around. Then I got caught up in this business with redcaps pretending to be sheep and an old hag. And I'm just trying to get to this one spot, darn it.
Anyway, fought an owlbear, discovered some kind of town ruin, and Shadowheart is starting to open up to me quite a bit. Her relationship with me is like 35 while the next highest is Lae'zel at 18, so the rest of the group has to catch up a bit.

I'm basically playing "The Hitman" while infiltrating the goblin camp. At the cost of sounding like a psycopath, I'm having fun assassinating the goblin and then hiding the bodies (when I don't shove them to their death in the abyss) to avoid the whole camp turning hostile.

Okay, last night I finally got to the spot in the swamp I was looking for. Turns out the reason I couldn't find a path there is that there wasn't one. It required some jumping to reach. But now I know Kagha's secret, and hopefully I can use it to get her to stop the ritual. But we'll see. I'm pretty spent at this point, so if a fight breaks out, I don't know how well I'll do with only cantrips. Might need to take a long rest first.

I'm 50+ hours into Baldur's Gate 3, still in Act 1 and just recently hit level 5.
I'll be lucky to finish this thing by Christmas at this rate.

I didn't get the game, just can't bring myself to pay the current price. I will eventually have the game, just not right now.
That being said I'm back running through Wasteland 3. Never completed it last time I was on there.

I'm in the middle (or maybe near the end, I'm not sure) of Act 2, at 90+ hours. Hit level 9 last night.
Which part are you doing right now?

Right now I'm down in the Underdark. Just rescued that dwarf from the mushroom field.

That part was super hard for me, restraining myself from just making him blow up especially...

Fortunately, I found a scroll of Fly just beforehand.

Just finished Act 2 (or at least, on the verge of doing so). Wow, the final boss fight of the Act was super fun. And my developing romance with Lae'zel is adorable.
I'm reading a lot of complaints about Act 3 being bugged / not enough fleshed out... I'm debating if stopping there waiting for patches to come out, while I either play one of the 2 others characters I've created, or start a Dark Urge playthrough... choices, choices...
Edit: also, for anyone interested. The two divinity games are on sale on Steam!

So over the course of last weekend I was trying out some games and I got really into The Outer Worlds. I got sucked in fairly quickly. Next thing I knew it was the end of Sunday and time go to bed and be ready for work on Monday. And all I got through was the first "act". Space RPG with some FPS aspects. I'm running through at story difficulty so less fighting more adventure is essentially how it's going. I'm having fun. Kind of glad to have something that was included in game pass that I could play after finishing Wasteland 3.

Oh, I love The Outer Worlds. I've mentioned it a few times in this thread over the years. I haven't played it since the last DLC came out, though. Maybe if I ever finish BG3. It really felt like a spiritual successor to the Fallout New Vegas. I loved it's anti-corporate message. The future dystopia they present in their world-building is truly chilling.

I should have paid more attention to this thread before. Or fished back through the older posts before I joined here. I can't believe how hooked it got me. But it's a good game and i knew it reminded me of something else I'd played couldn't put my finger on it but you are right.
