I took a week off of BG3 while I was sick, so I'm hoping to finally wrap up the Underdark this week.

I paused the game as well, for various reasons. But I intend on playing tonight, as I'm finally home and free of commitments.

So after two months and 100 hours of gameplay in Baldur's Gate 3, I finally finished...
...Act One. Whew, this is going to take awhile.

Man that is a lot of time. I don't think I spent that much time on The Outer Worlds. I have the DLC content but apparently haven't unlocked it correctly in game so I might have to run through the game a 3rd time so I can actually play it.
BG3 gives me something to look forward for later on just not currently.

Let me know what you think of the DLC for Outer Worlds. I remember enjoying most of them.

I'll do that. Been having family movie/show nights so haven't gotten to it yet.

So, Baldur's Gate in BG3 had me go in full choice paralysis mode with all the things you can do in the city, so I'm taking a break from it.
I have instead starting a playthrough of Icewind Dale..I did play BG1 a few years back, and...well, I basically played randomly because I didn't understand how most of it worked..Now I'm much more comfortable with the system (thanks Daos!), and it's making all the difference.
My party is a Male Human Cavalier, a Female Elf Fighter/Thief, a Male Half-Orc Fighter/Cleric, a Female Half-Elf Fighter/Druid, a Male Gnome Illusionist, and a Female Half-Elf Bard. I mostly created the party on the classes I wanted to try, but I did read that it's much more combat heavy than BG1 (and it is!), so I took the advice of making a lot of frontliners (that's why I have three multi-classed fighters).

Oh, yeah, I did an IWD playthrough here in the forums a few years back, using the original Gontoria party. Probably should avoid that thread if you don't want spoilers.
But yeah, there are some roleplaying elements to the IWD series, but it's way hackier/slashier than BG. Way harder, too, difficulty wise. I remember having to turn on cheats more than once just to progress.

I remember having to turn on cheats more than once just to progress. I'm reading it (and enjoying) as I progress through the game. I'm glad I'm not the one who struggled and had to retry a few many times the fight with the trolls and the clerics in the second level of the Dragon's Eye lol damned Egenia got all my money I've just finished the third one now (which was also really hard, but I think I'm getting a bit better at figuring out when/how to use the spells), so tomorrow I'll try and tackle the fourth one.

Aw, disappointed that a lot of the images and videos I linked to are defunct now in that thread. And yeah, Egenia is running quite the scam there. Step 1: Get willingly captured by bad guys Step 2: Wait for adventurers to rescue her Step 3: Charge them through the nose for magical healing It's ingenious, really. She can probably fund the building of an entirely new temple from that alone.

BG3: Make a Persuasion check. DC 14. Me: Easy, I'm a Bard. I get +9 to Persuasion. And I'll roll with advantage thanks to Friends. * rolls two 3s* Me: Okay, that was statistically unlikely. But I have inspiration so I'll roll again. *rolls natural 1* I seriously roll in this game like I do in actual tabletop games. -_-()

Yeah, something similar happened to me once, I had to burn through 3 inspiration points just to get a number higher than 5 (I needed a 6 to pass...)
On a more positive note, I finished my first playthrough of Disco Elysium. I started a few days before I got BG3, so then I paused and now I finally found the time to finish it.
I'm also halfway there with Icewind Dale, I think. I'm exploring Dorn's Deep right now. Is this thing connected to the underdark? Myconids, Drow, Ettins, etc...

Perhaps the dwarves there dug too greedily and too deep.

No, they couldn't get out. But seriously, I can't remember if Dorn's Deep was connected to the Underdark or not. It did go pretty deep underground, though.
