Okay, I got him 20 more arrows, 7 more days of rations and another waterskin. He still has 198 GP and some change afterward; it barely put a dent in his finances. You guys SURE you don't want to spend any money on healing potions? They only cost 50 GP each. You all are going into the last dungeon under leveled, after all. There is literally no reason to hoard your gold now. Anyway, guess I'll put up the new chapter tomorrow. Yes I will buy 3 healing potions.

(OOC: Another Death Save?) No, Fosco revived Balasar with a Healing Word spell, so he's back on his feet and can act normally now.

And that's the end of Lost Mine of Phandelver. Wow, I can't believe I thought that brief module was going to take only a year. It almost went on for two (second year anniversary would have been April 16). We lost six players along the way, too. Seven, if you include Gravity.
Anyway, for those of you who stuck it out to the end, I thank you. I hope you enjoyed it. If your character leveled up at the end, you can go ahead and level them up if you want, just in case you ever decide to use the character in a future game.
There were surprisingly few magical items in this module. I'm not sure if that's true of all 5E modules or just this one in particular. But there weren't that many and I don't think the party found any outside a few potions. But then, you guys did skip a lot of content, too. I think the worst placement, magical item wise, were the Boots of Striding and Springing. They were worn by Thundren's dead body. Which means the only way the party could have claimed them would have been to randomly decide to strip the boots off a dead man. Which is...I mean, geez, how sociopathic did the module writers assume the PCs would be? I would have given them to Gundren (or even Nundro instead), and if he survives, he gives them to the party as a reward.
Anyway, any questions, thoughts, feedback? Let me know.

I regret that we did not defeat the Black Spider now we left a evil lord loose out there and he wiped out the village....

Haha, yeah. But nobody in the party died. And this being Forgotten Realms and all, it's probably safe to assume the Black Spider was eventually defeated by someone. Drizzt. Or Elminster. The Harpers. I dunno. If the party had defeated him (either killing him or arresting him), the ending plays out quite different. Gundren offers them a percentage of the mine's profits, making them rich. Phandalin grows and prospers from all the new trade. And the party has the option of buying and cleaning up the Tresendar Manor in town, and using it as a base of operations.

Hmm rich and only level 3 sounds a bit far fetched lol or premature. But could be worth it though i suspect we'd have been hard pressed with the flaming floating skulls and then the actual bad guy himself. I still regret not "trying" to take the bad guy down.

Yeah, and considering the module expects you to be level 4 when you reach Wave Echo Cavern (and hit level 5 when you finish the game), it's pretty impressive there were no deaths. Most of the encounters in Wave Echo Cavern were considered 'deadly' level, in terms of Challenge Rating.
The Flameskull would have been a very difficult fight. Maybe even harder than the final boss. Not only is it CR 4, but you had to fight 8 zombies alongside it, as well. (Although with both a cleric and a paladin who can turn undead, they might have been easy to break up). The Flameskull had magic resistance and could cast Fireball (albeit, only once a day). That would have been a tricky fight to win.
The other really tough fight would have been the Black Spider, of course. He was a level 4 mage, had backup from the doppelganger, and a magic staff that would let him cast Spider Climb and Web a few times, as well as deal poison damage. Plus, he had four giant spiders hiding behind those pillars, waiting to jump out at his command. However, his only damage dealing spell was Magic Missile (unless you count cantrips, as he had Ray of Frost and Shocking Grasp). If you could eliminate the doppelganger and spiders quickly enough, Nezznar alone wouldn't have been too big a threat.

While I'm a little sad that we didn't get to fight Black Spider, I get why it didn't happen. The whole dungeon was basically a death trap for the group since we were under leveled. Making out to save Nundro only seemed like the best bet to keep the PC's alive. Though, it was surprising that Black Spider let that happen in the first place considering that he has been thwarted at every turn.
