Perfect so it sounds to me like my adjustments really aren't going to change how you play a paladin. I guess I have just had bad experience with past players of the class. Sounds to me like you play a Paladin in the manner I would expect.
Basically I've been reading some older DrangonLance Novels and Sturm Brightblade is how I would expect a Paladin to be played even though he is a Solamnic Knight to me there is not a ton of difference from them and Paladins. At least not how Sturm considered how they should have been/acted versus how they actually were acting in the books I read.

Greetings. I am excited to try and join a historical module. What classes the group have so far?

Greetings. I am excited to try and join a historical module. What classes the group have so far? So far the only posted character that i can see is Daos's Half-Elf Mage. Alright that makes a Human Paladin and a Half-Elf Mage.

I think I’m gonna go with a half orc cleric of either Heironeous or Pelor. How does Multiclassing a cleric work again? Do you make a specialty priest every time you make a cleric to determine sphere access?

How does multi-classing work with the 'start at level 2' thing, Greywolf? Do they start at level 1/1? Or do they start at 2/2, and thus get a big leg up on anyone who single-classed? What if they go with a triple multi-class (like fighter/mage/thief)?

Probably best to issue a number of Exp and do the split. Currently I think the Wizard at 2500 exp is the high number in the group.
That would give a multi-class 1250/1250 or 833/833/833 that isn’t horrible. The cleric side would be near to leveling and if the other half was a thief it would be level two. Higher amounts of exp would put us all closer to levels up of course. A Cleric/Thief achieves 2/2 at 3000 exp for the party. Cleric/Fighter 2/2 at 4000, but then your single classed characters would begin popping level 3.

Dex for bows to hit, if you spend the money to buy a composite bow you can eventually add some form of Strength bonus to damage
i believe thrown weapons are Dex to hit and Str to Damage.

I'd probably go with 2,500 XP, as well. That puts any single-class character at level 2 except for rogues, who would be level 3 (but generally speaking, rogues tend to be one level higher than everyone else anyway).

With the various XP for level 2 required by classes it is fairly impossible for me to make it "even" because those classes that require less to level up would still have a leg up on those that take more. A dual or multi class would start at 1/1. Honestly I was not anticipating dual or multi class PC's normally it is a rarity in my experience most people don't do it at low levels. I would expect it possibly if this was a higher level game.
Here is what I am saying by it is not possible to "even" it out even with a straight XP amount.
I give 2500 xp to everyone you select a class that needs 2,000 for level 2 ok so you are level 2.25
Someone else makes a class requiring only 1,500 for level 2 now they are almost level 2.5
Another is a class needing 2,500 xp so they start at exactly level 2.
The fourth player only needs 1,250 for level 2 they now are level 3 to start with.
So far we have no "fairness" as the other 2 will level up to level 3 faster than the 3 PC. The 4th is already a level above the other 3.
Now if we dive into the dual and multi classes they have to take that 2,500 and divide it between all classes.
So Dual class gets 1,250 for both classes and unless they take Rogue for one they start at 1/1.
Multi if they go with 3 get all level 1's for all classes. So again fair is not really possible no matter how you add it up.
