The following day is sunshine and clear skies, just as the day before it was. The party awakens in their rooms, then meets in the common room for breakfast and to discuss their next move. However, Jaeron's sleep last night was anything but restful. He spent most of the night tossing and turning, waking up in a sweat. All throughout the night, he had terrible nightmares of that day when pirates took his uncle's boat, and left him in a rowboat with broken oars. It's odd, as it's not something he's really thought about in some time, much less had bad dreams about. But the nightmares he had last night were so intense, the event might as well had happened yesterday. However, Kalana's sleep last night was anything but restful. She spent most of the night tossing and turning, waking up in a sweat. All throughout the night, she had terrible nightmares of the atrocities she committed on the people of Shadowshore, under Tethys' rule. It's odd, as the nightmares were just as intense as if the whole thing had happened yesterday, instead of years ago. ============= It is now Bludsin 27th, 8 AM. Kalana regains 1 HP. Johannas regains 1 HP. Casters may choose new spells for the day.

Early in the morning Senllip already snoops in the kitchen and offers help cooking and serving as he used to do on board of the Blue Lightning. When his companions arrive one by one he gives them heartedly smile and gladly repeats the menu for breakfast and once delivering the orders he joins them at the table and tells them about old stories from their sails as he had much seniority over most of them. "So, no more of past adventures, we have important tasks ahead. People to save! People to restrain! People to investigate! A lot of people stuff to do. Bureaucracy at its top..." he frowns at the conclusion he arrived to.

"Good morning to you all," Imrich greets the rest of the party and helps himself to some breakfast. "Indeed, there is much to do. In the interests of preventing further deaths, I would suggest that we focus our attentions on the sudden deaths among the refugees, but...we have made little progress so far and there is a clear risk that it will take days to get anywhere. It might therefore be better if we look into the problem of the rowdy mercenaries and try to determine whether that situation can be resolved more swiftly."

Jaeron arrives and looks a bit shaken and tired his eyes are slightly red and bloodshot and he looks like he hasn't slept in days.... "If only letting go of the past were possible...how did everyone else sleep?"

Kalana takes a few swigs from her flask as she approaches her people in the common room. Much like Jaeron, she doesn't appear to have slept very well in the least. "I think I could do with dealing with some rowdy mercenaries right now than trying to solve the mystery of unexplained deaths," she comments as she plops down into a chair.

“Yes,” Johannes agrees. “That job’s nice and simple.”

"Wait! wait... Not that I think you are wrong, it is just that if another person dies today we will have regrets." Senllip says quickly. "Since we don't sleep at the camp, even that it was suggested, we can sleep this evening in the problematic tavern and deal with this problem as we go along. I think in the morning it would be better to check the camp. And anyhow most interesting things happens at the bars at evenings."

"The only other option we have when it comes to the refugees is to have our priest speak with the dead," Kalana says. "And perhaps trying to get that little girl to talk about what she saw when she found the dwarf, but she seems pretty tight lipped."

"... and scan the field looking for clues. So priests..." Senllip's eye goes wide with marvel and expectation, "Can you speak with the dead??"

Jaeron still very much looking like a sleep deprived gnome looks a little irritated at the question "Why? I didn't sleep well had nightmares of a horrible event in my past and you want me to talk to dead people?" he says very much out of his usual personality/mood. Then calming down a bit "I'm sorry I am just a bit on edge after last nights events. I didn't even get a chance to pray to Gonto for new spells...but I can at least try."

"If speaking to the dead can speed up our investigation, I'm all for it. As for the little girl, I have little experience dealing with traumatised children. I'm afraid I have nothing useful to contribute when it comes to helping her find her tongue again. If neither of these avenues of investigation provide any new information, that leaves us with few options besides trying to retrace the steps of the deceased to find a pattern or common denominator."

"She might be more comfortable talking to a woman," Kalana offers. "I have siblings that I use to comfort. I am a little out of practice, but I can try," she adds before looking to Jaeron. "You aren't the only one that has had a bad night, so don't take it out on us."

"Indeed. I slept soundly and I don't recall either of you mentioning troubled sleep during our voyage here."
