Oh, right, my bad. I had meant to say 'legendary actions.' Yes, lair actions happen at Initiative 20, but legendary actions can happen at any point in the round.
But yeah, I see what you mean. There are a number of 5E mechanics that aren't pbp friendly. Another is Reactions. The only way to employ them is to wait until after the round is resolved, meaning I have to go and edit the post after the fact. That's not too bad for some of them--using Uncanny Dodge to halve damage or an Attack of Opportunity to take a swing at the kobold who runs past you. But imagine a situation where an evil caster drops a fireball on the party at the beginning of the round, wiping out half of them. After an hour or longer of making that post, I hit submit. Then the wizard yells, "Counterspell!" Now I have to go back and basically rewrite that entire post. While granted, nothing like that has happened just yet, I'm well aware of it essentially being an inevitably. But at the same time, I don't really see another way around it.

I never tried group intative. (Well sort of. In my version for mass combats that I have devolped, but this is a diffrent story.)
Maybe it can be an average of the group, or to be added up as a group.
About legendary action- you still can go- "After Flint and before Raistilin the big bad guy does X"

There was a Spelljammer comic back in the 90s. I never read it. I think it was 15 issues total.

Why do you think this is the last ever?

Couple of reasons.
First was the lawsuit against WotC. After the first book was almost done, WotC tried to kill the contract for the trilogy and Hickman/Weis took them to court. They settled, but I imagine there are still lots of bad feelings on both sides and I can't imagine they'll ever want to work with each other again.
Second, WotC seems pretty done with Dragonlance. The module and board game they released last year didn't do well, and they recently killed the live action series that Joe Manganiello was making.
So I'd be pretty surprised if we see any further Dragonlance media, whether it be novels, modules or anything else for that matter, for a long, long time.

They released the beta rules of Daggerheart for playtesting yesterday. I downloaded them and were looking them over, and even discussed the idea of playtesting them with Horizon. Has anyone else looked into it? Any interest?

Let me know what you think. It's definitely not like anything I've ever run before.

So, funny story…
I was telling a friend of mine about how I was familiar-ish with 2E because of this site, and they were really interested in it. So now I’m planning to run a 2E one-shot at my school’s weekly TTRPG afternoon that the Science Fiction Society runs. Do you have any tips for writing or running the adventure?

Did you have any thoughts on setting or genre (dungeon crawler, gothic horror, wilderness exploration, high seas adventure, etc.)? I can make some recommendations for published works. But if you want to write it yourself, I can try to give advice, depending on what it is you are going for.
