"Good idea," Barlemus says to Nobanion. He looks to the boy. "Hey, kid, can you fetch a healer for us?"

Little T. J. perks up instantly and simply darts away into the mist. His grandfather calls after him and casts an angry look towards our heroes as he trots off into the dark night behind him.
The rest of the vendors seem to suddenly realize the time and hustle back to their various stalls. Securing lock boxes, shutters, and goods. They all seem to slowly fade away. Suddenly you are all very much alone in the gloomy mist.
A whistle comes from the dark, a small forlorn tune. Something about it reminds you of a the water, fish, dolphins...some of you don’t even know what those are, but you see them plainly in your mind as the song echoes through the misty night.
A voice cuts the night. “What has happened to this man?” An elf steps from the mist covered in seaweed clothing. He looks at you quizzically. A smaller figure stands closely behind him. Both have slightly blue tinged skin, both a dressed in seaweed robes, belted with red kelp. Both carry themselves with an air of authority.

Nobanion steps forward, cutting off the line of sight from the elf to the man on the ground. "I think a better question might be, 'Who are you and what business is it of yours?'"
He smiles as he says it, but it is clear he intends to know the answer before the discussion goes further.

Tagon speaks up "We're part of the watch and this fellow here appears to have some sort of cursed item harming him, caused him to try to kill another." as the dwarf is talking he indicates the knocked out fellow and the bauble causing the rash.

Dirk flashes a knowing smile at the newcomers and produces his badge in a flourish as he comes forward. He makes it appear as though he is allowing the elf a chance to inspect the badge, but what Dirk really is doing is getting a closer look at both the elf and his companion. Observation: QxNUA|Mq1d20
"Greetings and well met. As my companions have indicated, we are part of the city watch here in Waterdeep and have been tasked to keep the peace. I am Dirk Perfect, and you are....?" After that is answered, "And your business here - regarding this man is?..." 1d20

"Are you guys...the healers we called for?" Barlemus asks, not sure what to make of their weird outfits.

The two appear elven in most ways, save that blue skin. Dirk catches glimpse of a pendant that seems striking familiar dangling from both their necks. He shifts his attention back to Theodore and confirms his quick thought. The necklaces seem strikingly similar. Stylized waves breaking on sand or something...definitely about water.
The two look to the group and seem to take you all in for the briefest of seconds before their eyes drop back to Theo.
“We were not summonsed by anyone watchman. We make our rounds as were are commanded. We are the Deepwaterman and Beautiful Storm. I am Bulclutha and this is Lady Malstrua. We guide the fishers and good folk of these piers through the storms of our lord The King of Waters, Istishia.” The man stops speaking and his smaller (younger?) companion begins to speak, their voices seeming to flow together for the briefest of seconds. “The mist led us to where we were needed this evening. It always pulls us to the place where our lords will must be worked. You say a magic afflicts this poor lost soul?”

Tagon nods his head "Aye, the fella found a 'treasure' and since then hasn't been himself we were told, before being told that he took up a cleaver and tried to attack a neighboring merchant. We suspect it might be the treasure he found. To which we were indicated is the pendant he has there. As you might see it's given him what I can old describe as a rash where he wears it."

"Istishia?" Barlemus repeats. "Ut, I've heard of him. Some of the folk in Torros worshiped him. They were much nicer than the ones who followed Umberlee, anyway."

The mage outlander smiles and bows, recognizing the water goddess' name. "Ahh, now it makes sense. The symbol is that of the Water Lord. I should have known. This is an element that vexes me, you see. Though, I have studied of its wonders. Let me see if I recall what my Shifu said...Do not try to be what you are not; rather, excel at what you are. Yes... and carry this message of personal excellence to the world. Like the water itself - be flexible but not unreasonable. It is so - as the rains flow down to the ocean in the folds of earth and not up mountains, so do the truths of the way of water spread throughout the land. The mysteries of life are to be enjoyed and puzzled over, but realize that some answers do not come in this world, but rather in the next. That is why many are returned to the waters, yes?"
The elf bows. "Greetings and well met. Are you able to help this man?"

“While the gods of Fire believe we will all return to ash and Dust, our Lord of the Waves knows the truth. From the surf we all came, and to the surf we will all return. Life mimics the seas, it is chaos and currents. Storms and doldrums. It is ever changing.” He looks to you all to see if you agree. His smaller companion moves towards Theodore and helps him up.
“Do not worry. There is a small refuge for those in need in Oltown. You can leave him with us. We will take him there where he will be safe." The priest makes a grand sweeping gesture towards Theo, the back out into the mist.
Almost on queue the clanking of plate and jangle of chain echoes through the mist. Stepping out of the fog from the direction of the Ward Gates is a large, heavily armored man. To his left is a torch bearer, and to his right is a manservant and little T.J. He swaggers up to you and says. ”Not so fast! I will take this man. I have a much better place for him than the elf does. I belong to a true temple, a beautiful, splendid place, not some shanty on the docks . . ."

Dirk resists a face palm as he considers the dilemma the group has just gotten themselves into. He looks to the new comer - most likely another cleric of a rival god or goddess. "This ought to be interesting," he says with heavy sarcasm. He gives the newcomer a good look and considers if he will need to use some light fingered skills to remove holy symbols and spell pouches before the casting and blasting that are sure to start.

Barlemus looks between the two priests, unsure. He asks the newcomer, "Which god do you serve then?"

Nobanion considers the situation. He silently prays to Waukeen for an equitable solution, and makes his decision. "We don't really care which of you heals this man, but you can do it right here. Afterwards, as City Guards, we will take charge of the artifact and return it to the Watch Captain at the end of our shift." He slips on his gloves as he continues, "I will take charge of the amulet because I will not need to touch it, and I can place it in one of my pouches for safekeeping."
