It occurs to Lillian that Lady Helen Escott* has red hair, instead of platinum blonde, and is also only 5'6", whereas the Knight Errant is 5'11", and thus it is unlikely they are the same person.
Ladonna starts to chant, preparing her holding spell. Upon seeing this, Oskibor begins to pray. The dwarf is faster, and suddenly, Ladonna goes silent. She finds she cannot speak at all, and thus cannot finish her spell, either.

~Smart,~ Ladonna thinks to herself as she moves away from the silence area, so she can try to cast hold person again on the Kohen. She knows that he is probably quicker than her, but she is going to try.

Moving out of the radius of the silence spell, Ladonna begins chanting again. This time, she is faster. The spell goes off...and absolutely nothing happens. It just washes off Oskibor like water off a duck's back.
This isn't a matter of willpower, either. It's not that the spell failed to take hold of the dwarf, or that he resisted it. It just has no effect whatsoever.
"Ah, I guess you've never faced a Minter before," he offers, seeing her confusion. "Our minds are completely protected from charm magic. Sorry." He takes a swing with his mace at her, but her mage armor protects her from any harm.

Ladonna blasts Oskibor with so much flame, it catches him off guard, he stumbles back and drops his now red-hot mace in the process.

Ladonna hates getting into melee range, but she doesn't have any options at this point since most of her spells have to deal with charms in some way, but she does have some fighting experience thanks to her father, so she carefully looks for an opening before moving in to strike Oskibar with her staff.

Just as Oskibor bends down to pick up his fallen mace, which has now cooled a bit, Ladonna smacks him with her staff. The blow connects, but is so weak that it does little more than leave a bit of a bruise. She'll need to hit him much harder to win this thing.

Ladonna, gaining in confidence, takes another swing with her staff, but is blocked by the dwarf's shield. Oskibor strikes her with his mace, and shatters through her Armor spell, hitting her in the side. She is now not only wounded, but defenseless.

Ladonna swings again, but is again easily blocked by the dwarf's shield. He retaliates, striking her in the leg. Without her Armor spell, she was an east target. He would probably finish her off in another swing or two.
