Ladonna throws the now enchanted rope at Viondre. It strikes her armor harmlessly, then falls to the woman's feet, still awaiting Ladonna's verbal command. Viondre, not understanding why Ladonna just chucked a coiled rope at her, just shrugs it off. "It seems your magic could use a little work!" she says. She slams her mace into Ladonna, shattering the armor spell protecting her, and leaving a rather nasty bruise on the mage's right shoulder.

Ladonna, of course, knew the proper commands she could give the rope that were permitted by the spell, and knew also exactly which one she wanted to use now. "Tie and knot!" she cries out, and the rope does just that, latching onto and wrapping around the aasimar, entangling her so she cannot move or attack.

Now that Viondre is bound, Ladonna takes her staff and moves in to smack Viondre. "It seems we have something in common after all," she says. "Overconfidence."

Ladonna swings her staff weakly at the aasimar, but it just bounces off her armor harmlessly. "You underestimate my determination!" Viondre counters as she struggles against the binds. "I've already drawn first blood. As long as I can make it until the time limit ends, I will win," she points out.

"I'm not underestimating anything," Ladonna admits. She knows what she is up against, and if Viondre does get free, she knows what she is going to do. Either way, she moves in to smack her again. "Magical bonds are harder to free yourself from though."

Ladonna takes another swing, but it just bounces off the woman's armor. "Leaving the ring before the fight ends disqualifies you," Viondre points out. "So I command you...LEAVE." Her eyes glow a bit and her command seems to force its way inside Ladonna's brain, compelling her to obey. However, Ladonna has long trained in the arts of mind control, including defending from it, and is able to resist the command, shrugging it off. Viondre actually looks a bit surprised it didn't work.

Ladonna, again, swings and misses Viondre. Suddenly, the ropes entwining the aasimar go slack, and fall off her. Free again, she readies her mace.

Ladonna drops her staff at this point, and takes a step back. "I forfeit," she says. She knows better than to continue when she knows she can't win this battle.

"Ladonna the Liar forfeits, which means our winner and this year's champion is Kohen Viondre Fuller!" the announcer states. The audience cheers loudly and wildly. Viondre lowers her weapon and bows modestly to the crowd. "It was the will of Gonto!" she proclaims.

Lillian claps modestly for Viondre. It's a shame Ladonna didn't win, but she made it to the final match, which is still impressive.

The announcer hands over Viondre's prize--three thousand gold pieces. "What's more, the count has agreed to have your preferred weapon enchanted or blessed."
Turning to Ladonna, the announcer adds, "As runner up, here is your own prize." And she hands Ladonna a thousand gold pieces.
"You fought well," Viondre says. "I had hoped to find a real challenge in this bout, and you provided it. My thanks." She offers the mage her hand.

"You're welcome," Ladonna says. She seems a little surprised that she managed to give Viondre a challenging fight, especially since she forfeited the fight. Either way though, she shakes the woman's hand and accepts her prize. Though, once that is done, she heads back to where she left Lillian. "That went better than I thought it was, and I wasn't even remotely prepared for a fight today."
