My guess would be because Polymorph Other is much harsher on the recipient; there's a serious risk of the recipient forgetting their identity, and coming to believe their new form is their real form.
Also, I imagine her fabricated backstory as a Silvanesti is she's a dark elf (i.e., banished from her homeland), because otherwise it would be pretty odd for one to be hanging around pirates and Sargonnas worshipers.
How many candles?

Hmm, yeah that makes sense. What would be something that would justify an elf being banished from their homeland?
Let's say 5 candles.

Oh, lots of reasons--especially for a Silvanesti. Worshiping the gods of neutrality or darkness, taking the red or black robes as wizards, murder, treason, defiling the forest, falling in love with someone beneath or above your station, wearing white after Labor Day...okay, maybe not that last one. But honestly, the simplest and easiest answer is that she is a priestess of Chislev (a god of neutrality). As far as Silvanesti are concerned, Neutrality is just one step away from Evil, and therefore is just as bad. (They're fine with paying homage to Chislev, but actually dedicating your life to a god of neutrality would be vulgar to them.)

Ahahah ok that works perfectly then. I think I have everything I need to write her backstory.
One last thing (I swear it's really the last one): I was reading a bit about Irda's lore, and I wanted to add as a reason to her travels the fact that she is searching for the Idra that were taken by Takhisis... Would that make sense with the timeline we'll play in?

Sure, they were taken during the War of the Lance, which was about 17 years ago, so it was fairly recent (certainly very recent by Irda standards, as they are so long-lived).

Mythweavers is fine, but I'll still transcribe it onto the Character Stats thread anyway.
Yes, Past Glory uses my own homebrewed rules. For this game, we're using Tales of the Lance instead.

Ah. Ok. My bad.
Hmm. Savage Wizard is said to have proficency in weapon of her tribe.. would the minotaur weapons count?

Sure, but only if the weapon is primitive enough. I'd say the forpann, kausin, mandoll, clabbard sword and sanguine are probably too advanced. But the shatang, katar sword, lajang polearm and tessto should be fine.

The only thing missing is my starting money since I think I have to donate most of what remains from my starting founds to my church. How much can I keep? 10 stp? Also, what's Idra's movement value?

Makes sense...most of my house rules were converted from 3E sources. Okay, this all looks good. I think we can officially declare this character done and ready to go. By core rules, you keep 2-3 STP, so we'll go with 3. Irda's base movement rate is 12.

For the backstory... how long is it exactly after the war?
Also... having an Irda is an intresting dynamic. Irda are the mythical high ogres, which races like the Minotaurs are proud to decend from. I imagine Parra (my minotaur wizard) would see her pursue after magic, as search for the High ogre glory.

The war ended 17 years ago.
Also, I don't believe anyone in the party knows she is an Irda. She disguises herself as a Silvanesti.
