~Of course,~ Orianna mouths to herself. From the shadows, she fires an arrow at the goblin in hopes of finishing her off.

While the goblin obliviously continues looting, Orianna nocks an arrow and looses it. It flies into the goblin's throat, killing her instantly.

Orianna goes to check on those that have fallen, and makes sure that they are still alive. She knows that it will be awhile before they wake up, so she spends some time actually looting the goblins (and Klarg that she killed outside the cave).

First, Orianna checks on her fallen companions. Fosco and Djan live, although they won't be going anywhere for awhile. Unfortunately, Iroas didn't make it. He has no pulse and does not breathe at all.
Neither the goblin or Klarg carry anything of value. However, the crates and barrels stored in Klarg's chamber look like they might have worth. They bear a blue lion emblem on them, which Orianna recalls belongs to the Lionshield Coster in Phandalin. Likely these are the goods that have been stolen from passing merchants.
There is also a treasure chest, unlocked. Inside, Orianna finds 600 copper pieces, 110 silver pieces, two potions (both labeled 'Healing'), and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes.

Orianna takes the two healing potions and makes sure Djan and Fosco have one each so that she can at least wake them up. Once they are awake, she moves to stand near the treasure chest because she doesn't trust Djan. "Iroas didn't make it," she says sadly. "And I'm pretty sure all of these crates belong to the Lionshield Coster in Phandalin. There is also quite a bit of money here as well that I suggest we split among ourselves evenly."

Fosco gasps in shock and grief when he hears of Ioras's death. "No...why him? It could have been any of us, but it was him...why couldn't it have been..." He stops his sentence there and briefly glaces around the room.

Fosco glances around the room. The bodies of the two goblins, the wolf, and Iroas lay nearby. Klarg is nowhere to be seen.
Djan gets to his feet. "Excellent. Then let us gather up the cargo and the treasure, load them onto the wagon, and get the Nine Hells out of here. It's clear the dwarf is not here, if he is even still alive. And we owe no obligation to save that human. We can sell off the cargo in town for some extra gold, then part ways."

"We are saving the human because he will know where the dwarf is," Orianna says. "I am fine with parting ways, but first we need to do what we came here to do or Iroas' death was all for nothing," she points out. "Not that you would care." She turns her attention to Fosco. "Klarg is outside of the cave. We should probably grab his morning star to prove that we did dispose of him."

Djan spits on the ground. "Fine, let's get this over with then." He heads north into the dam room and picks up Klarg's morning star, slinging it over his shoulder with ease.

Orianna follows after the dragonborn, and heads back across the bridge to where they were when they received the goblin's command. "Your pretend leader is dead," she says. "And here is his morning star to prove it. Now honor your word."

Yeemik's chamber is much as they left it. An archer stands on the stairs, arrow at the ready should the party try anything. Yeemik himself stands on the ledge with Sildar. The goblin chieftain looks at the morning star with awe as Djan drops it on the ground with a clatter. "Amazing...I thought maybe you'd thin out his followers a bit, but to actually kill him? And most of you still live. Haha, that's great."
"Yes, yes, I am truly amazing. Now hand over the pathetic human," Djan hisses, growing impatient.
"Whoa, whoa, not so fast," Yeemik says. "First, I require funds to rebuild my clan after you've decimated them. I'll hand over the human for, let's say...three hundred gold pieces."

"That wasn't the deal," Orianna says. "And you have all ready admitted to being surprised that we killed Klarg. Is this the game you really want to play, when you all ready know that we are powerful enough to take down Klarg, his wolf, and his followers?" she asks.

Yeemik takes a step back, despite himself. "Tch, fine! Whatever! I'm tired of dealing with you all, anyway!" he blusters. "Just get out of my cave, and take your dumb human with you!" He forces Sildar up to his feet, then gives him a shove toward the stairs.
Sildar, his hands still tied in front of him, hesitates, as if expecting a dagger in his back at any second. After composing himself, the older man walks down the stairs, past the archer, and joins up with the party. He is in his early fifties, and wearing no armor or weapons, or any gear at all aside from the clothes on his back. He has greying hair and a thick mustache, and appears rather badly beaten up.

Orianna unties the man's hands before she leads them out of the cave. The sooner they are away from the goblins, the better, in her mind. "Do you mind if I ask what happened?" she asks.

As the group walks to the entrance, Sildar tells his story. "It started with the three Rockseeker brothers--Gundren, Tharden, and Nundro--locating the entrance to the long-lost Wave Echo Cave, site of the Phandelver's Pact. They were, quite obviously, very excited about the prospect."
"What is this Wave Echo Cave and Phandelver's Pact you speak of?" Djan asks, intrigued.
"The story, as I understand it, was that over five centuries ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge called the Forge of Spells, where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path. A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost," Sildar explains.
Continuing, Sildar says, "Klarg, the bugbear leader of this goblin band, had orders to waylay Gundren. I had overheard from the goblins that someone or something called the Black Spider sent word that the dwarf was to be brought to him. Gundren had a map showing the secret location of Wave Echo Cave, but the goblins took it when they captured him. It is my belief that Klarg sent the map and Gundren to the chief of the Cragmaws at a place called Cragmaw Castle. I've never heard of it and have no idea where it might be, but perhaps someone in Phandalin might know."
He adds, "Speaking of which, it's important I get to Phandalin. I have a contact there, a human wizard named Iarno Albrek. He was sent there two months ago to establish order, but we've received no word from him, so I was sent to investigate. That's why I took the bodyguard job for Gundren. It paid well and would get me to my destination. Alas, I was of little aid in the goblin ambush that took us."
Djan barks with derisive laughter. "An ambush that we easily handled. In any case, if you wish to be escorted to Phandalin, it will not be free, of course..."
"I...have no money on me," Sildar admits. "All of my belongings were taken to Cragmaw Castle. But, I can secure a loan to pay you all once we get into town. I do, after all, work for the Lords' Alliance."
